I got the car for MSRP as they wouldn't budge (it's tough luck for some of us in the Pacific Northwest) but I got some other things thrown in at no cost.

I was able to get $1,300 off...
Paddles, phantom black, b&o, carbon atlas, nav

Remember, no gas guzzler tax for the automatic!

Why does the transmission make a difference? Its still a V8. Or are you talking about the 3.0T cabrio?

For the S5 coupe, the manual transmission does have a gas guzzler tax (14 city/22 hwy) while the automatic does not (16 city/24 hwy).

The S5 cabriolet, which has the 3.0T and only available with the S-Tronic does not have a gas guzzler tax either. Ditto with the S4 sedan, even with a manual transmission.

Very interesting..thanks. Its funny that 2 mpg makes the manual a "guzzler".

I got $1K off sticker on my 2010 S5 a few months ago... it was sitting on the lot and I drove off with it 2 days later... the dealer told me I could have gotten a better deal if I was willing to order one and wait a few months.

Just out of curiosity, how much of that is VAT/GST? MSRP and invoice prices in the US do not include various sales taxes. In my case, the state that I'm in does not have sales taxes while other states can have sales taxes upwards to 9-odd percent.

Granted, the AUD has close to parity with the USD.
