Walk away and order from another dealer.
When I was ordering my S5, I went to a dealer that I had been working with for a while and when I asked for a discount, his sales manager wrote on a piece of paper "$500 off MSRP, Thank You!". As if he was doing me a favor. I told them that's a joke considering the price from Edmunds is even lower than that. Went to another dealer and we negotiated $1400 off. Another dealer about 100miles away was going to do $1500 off, but didn't want to go the distance to save $100.
When the car came in, I'm not sure what kind of math the dealer did, but the price of the car before tax, title, tags, and all the fees ended up being $60,7xx. Basically, I got the car with all the fees for about $62,xxx.

You should walk away straight up. There are deals to be had because some dealers want to sell the vehicle. Mostly when ordered, it's an easy painless deal. Know what you want exactly by building up the package on audi's site or edmunds, then call dealers who are willing to negotiate and order. Make it painless and you could get a very good deal if you do it right.
Hell, even if you have to go to a dealer farther away to get a crazy good deal and then have the car shipped to you. If you factor in the price of shipping, you could get a heck of a deal. Say shipping the car costs you $700, and you get the car for $60xxx, that's a much better deal than $500 off locally if you do it right. Or you go and drive it back and enjoy your new car.. Just call around and don't get suckered into anything. I believe everyone should target the price that Edmunds has.

Granted, the AUD has close to parity with the USD.
The Manufacturers price is AUD$118272
Dealers fees are AUD$3528.00
Taxes are AUD$27049 - 19k of that is out Luxury car tax

I assume it's just the price the market will bear.
For instance (and I know it's a different vehicle) but a 911 Carrera S is US$247,000

I have no idea what they go for in other countries though.

Thanks all for responding. I purchased an awesome 2011 S5 Prestige, Tiptronic trans, Brilliant Black, Tuscan Brown silk nappa leather, sport diff, side assist, sun shades and birch inlays. The car stickered for $63,675 with destination. The dealership threw in "Audi Care Package $790" only. I desperately needed a car (just coming off a lease) and they knew it. They did give me a loaner (2010 Q5) for about 9 days. Oh well. Next time I will heed the advise of the experts in the forum.

That is pretty dang steep, particularly the luxury car tax. In total, with vanity licenses, fees, Audi Care package (US$790) and other things, came to around US$1600 in addition to MSRP and destination charges (US$875).

In the US, the base MSRP for a 911 Carrera S is under US$91000, which is about 70% over the base MSRP for an S5 Premium Plus coupe.

I am trying to get my hands on an S5 cab. Geeez these things are hard to find.

And I am normally very good at haggling with dealers, yet nobody wants to budge. They all want MSRP pricing. LOL

I am trying to get a dealer to match the overstock pricing. Problem is nobody has stock! I might have to order one. Has anyone ever actually had a dealer match an Overstock price?

Best price usually comes online when you email competing dealers. Pit them against each other and the price will drop.

I got $3,000 off on a S5 Cab. Keep pushing. There are over 200 Audi dealers in the uS you can always go to another dealer and drive or ship it home.

Wow, US$91000

I am crying here. It has always been my dream car.

Well, the 356 cab was my dream car in truth
