Default Hey A5/S5 owners.... we over at the TT MKII forum have been discussing your headlights...

Specifically the LED functionality and the headlamp switch.

We were interested in knowing, (pictures if possible) how the LED's light up by themselves, similar to this TTS

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/33185/tts_led.jpg">

I said the LED's prpbably replace the regular headlamps running (or parking) lights but was not sure and figured your A5/S5's are the closest thing currently available to compare with.

That said, here is a pic from the TTS headlamp switch. Does it look the same as your a5/S5 switch and what setting controls the LED's by themselves?

Again, any supporting images of your headlight switch would be cool.

Thanks crew.

Default On or off control of the LED DRL's is controlled thru MMI. They are brighter with

lights off. With parking lights on, they dim down some. Excuse the bright sun.

Default The DRLs come on automatically. If the headlamp switch is in the "off" position, then the DRLs are..

... on full brightness. If the switch is in the "Auto" position, then the DRLs are at full brightness when the light sensor has the headlamps off, and half brighness with the headlamps on. You can also turn the DRLs to half brightness when you turn just the parking lamps on. There is no separate DRL switch; however, the timing of when the DRLs are replaced with full headlamps can be adjusted via MMI: Early, Middle, Late (as in, early/late into the evening).

Default Thank you.

Since not all TT's have MMI, I'm sure it will be different but its nice to know they are pretty much automatic, meaning (hopefully) no need for a different switch.

I appreciate the info.

Cheers.

Don't know if this is known yet or not, but it looks as though we'll be getting a small upgrade to the headlights...<ul><li><a href="http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publish/Industry_Tuner_News/article_4028.shtml">http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publish/Industry_Tuner_News/article_4028.shtml</a></li></ul>

Default Looks like a ticket.

"Officer I swear I didnt know my Hi-Beams are on. My Advanced auto-ma-do-hickey must be broken"....

Yeah yeah, you can dispute the ticket and maybe the Judge will buy into all that techno jibba-jabba.

Heh

Just sayin, sounds like one more thing to break, and not a feature I find at all useful (Ive never use my Hi-Beams in my life, on any car, ever).

The LED's at least look cool

Cheers.
