Saw an article (see link) that 30,000 VWs were damaged by ping-pong-sized hail while waiting shipment, but haven't seen any mention of Audis affected.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/06/27/volkswagen.hail.ap/index.html</a

Default personally...

I haven't heard anything from Audi yet.
But that guy is ranting about Audi trying to be responsible?

So would he be happier if his car arrived on time with two hundred pock marks on it from the hail storm???

Some people are never happy.

Look at it this way guys for 50-60k you are getting a car that because of SUPPLY-DEMAND issues has the clout and allure of a 120k Aston Martin or Maserati.

And we're complaining? Seriously. The performance characteristics of the car are on-par if not better than my friends Maserati GranTurismo. He had to wait the same amount of time that I am. (~9 months)

And my S5 has similar enthusiast appeal.

Anything worth having takes patience and effort.

Default I still have my doubts

That guy is a bit of a vocal complainer, but I get nervous.. it's too close!

If the guy's dealer said his Audi was affected by the hail, then it's not that far-fetched an idea that the news reports just mentioned VW because it was VW facility (but used by VW Audi, etc. for port distribution)

My car took forever to go from "in production" to "factory inspected", and I was a bit worried that there was some issue.

The dates were:
6/4 in production
6/23 factory inspected

That last date is right around when the storm hit, so I was worried that I could be affected as well. However, I have a VIN and my car is confirmed to be on a boat, so I guess I missed whatever mess they had going on over there.

Default this sounds scary

my S5 was loaded on a ship on 6/21 and this is supposed to have happened on the 22 I guess.
