Just love this...AoA cant get S5s...because Audi AG is selling them elsewhere for more $$$$

Not to mention the fact that Audi isn't taking deposits, the dealerships are, and NOT at the behest
... of corporate. The decision to take the deposits is entirely the dealership's own, not Audi's, and the money stays at the dealership (rather than going to Audi). Plus, deposits keep buyers committed since they have some skin in in the game. Otherwise, you have serious people and flighty people on the same list, but you have to manage them both with the same level of service (even though they're impossible to contact, may waste your time, and occupy spaces in list where there are tons of legit buyers, etc.).

If I was Audi, I would too. The USD is dismal and will get worse. Good thing they are putting
their efforts in China who replaced Great Britain as the largest market outside of Germany. AND why they are selling more cars than both BMW and Mercedes combined. If only they would have been on the ball here in the US during the early 90s...
