Designed by Fu Manchu - no more trying to look European , as in the previuos 2IS. They went all in on slantiness this time around, esp when you look at the side and rear. And those late to the party DRLs embedded into its own section of the bumper - Phil Knight must have some major dirt on Akio Toyoda, lol.

I'm a huge Lexus fan and I am not warming up to this at all. Lexus has abandoned their conservative, elegant, and classy designs with high school, racer-boy designs. Really a shame.

Is it me or does the lexus model range all really look the same?

Oh, guys, the back of the new IS is HIDEOUS!
http://www.lexus.ca/coming-soon/en/is/gallery
The front grille is too odd-shaped and too large by far. And, it does not have a valence underneath the front to round out the front... just too much grille, and nothing under the grille.
And the front lights... Umm... did they reuse the same lights from the old IS? Just... a slight more curvy?
The side... is too blocky which does not match the redesigned front and rear. The side looks like a Camry's side.
Now, I know Toyota wants to save costs with using similar OR same parts from the rest of the Lexus or Toyota model lineup... but do they have to use so much of the same parts?
They should differentiate more among their models.

I am often not sure what Audi I am looking at. I got into an A4 loaner one day and realized it was an A6. Critique the styling all you want but ripping on them for looking alike on an Audi forum really isn't fair.
Lexus is trying to draw in younger people and I guess radical styling is their effort to do so.

I personally like the way Lexus is going with their design. The new LS is the complete opposite design-wise over the earlier LS4 variants. I think this will appeal more towards the 30-40 upper/middle class folks who had been considering midsized German cars.

Sadly I've become increasingly less surprised at how much people on car specific forums love ripping on other brands.
To Jim's point, I cannot tell the difference between Audis from the back for the most part (except the A7). And from the front the only clear difference is the LEDs.

I understand your points on Audis looking alike.
I agree with you.
But, the facets or outer body locations of the Audis that look alike can be differentiated confidently.
What I am saying is that I can tell the difference between different Audi model lines between the A4, A6, A7, and A8.
And yes, the A4 and A6 looks very similar. But, not the A7 and A8.
But, I cannot tell unless I look closely, with the ENTIRE Lexus model line.
I agree that Lexus is targeting the younger crowd. But, it is much too aggressive with the rear end. Too aggressive in that it looks bad.... If it was too aggressive and it looked good, that is another story.

I've been a toyota/Lexus guy for the last 25 years and the f-sport model is way too aggressive for my taste.
The standard IS250/IS300H/IS350 front end is much better in my opinion.
what do you guys think?
Seriously thinking of getting an A5 instead...the deal breaker being a 6spd manual being available.
