New (Used) 4.2L S5 ..Exhaust comments
Well I bit the bullet today and bought a 2011 S5 4.2L Audi.... I would be very interested in hearing of people's experiences with aftermarket exhausts. I want something on the loud side that complements the V8 growl. Don't like drone. What's sounding good? AWE, Magnaflow, Milltek? I need to buy it in Canada as that's where I am.....
Cheers....

Best bet is always to hear in person as personal taste for most. Before I purchased mine, only had a chance to hear the AWE Track version from a local owner in Houston. Decided a bit more than I needed for a daily driver. Instead, AWE touring mode was better fit for my needs. Quality of construction is excellent and even years later there are no issues. The sound frequency on the touring version moved up a few notches where the factory was more a baritone/lower range, this one is more of a tenor/mid range. Sounds just right without drone and is perfect on the highway until you step on it.
Having not heard others much in person, hard to compare but had I had been unhappy with this one it would have been removed and replaced.
If you are looking for a bit louder, the AWE track version may fit the bill with addition of their downpipes to open up the sound even more.

That was my choice too...until.... I got the quote for it... almost $3500 (Canadian).... I decided on a Magnaflow Touring which will be installed next week.... hopefully it will sound OK or the $3500 might look affordable....
