Oil sensor MMI- reading wrong?
Hello everyone.
I have a 2013 Audi A5 Quattro 2.0L. I had an oil leak issue about a month ago, when I had just bought it from someone else. I got it fixed at the shop the previous owner got the timing belt chain work done (which was covered by warranty, thank goodness). It ended up being the sealant of the lower timing chain cover. It wasn’t sealing anymore and it was leaking from there. They resealed it. & The guy at the shop ended up telling me that it might end up leaking again, since the cover is outdated and just old and Audi has a better one out now. my current one has about 8 holes and the new ones have double the amount.
anyways, so I’ve been watching it and it’s no longer leaking but now my car says it has minimum oil.
I’m not very knowledgeable with cars (but I’m trying to be!) so I watched many videos.
I checked the hood microswitch under the bonnet to see if maybe it just isn’t reading right when oil is being added/changed. But it read fine. I unplugged the other end of the switch too.
Im wondering what else I could check before I decide on buying an oil sensor for it.
I did, however, buy a dipstick for it on Amazon today so I can check it in the meantime.
thanks in advance for the help!
