Repetive message coming on dashboard
Hi All,
There is a repetitive message coming on my Audi A5 Cabriolet 1984cc, 2009 dashboard.
The message reads:"Switch off engine and check oil level".
My auto mechanic said they have checked everything that they presume might be causing the problem, but the message still occurring.
Has any one experience such problem before! or can able to help please.
I hope to hear from you with a helpful response.
Thank you

Has anyone been able to verify the oil level using a dipstick, Pitish?

They told me that they have fully service the car which I presume they should have check the oil level using the dipstick.
That is just service 101 principle when checking oil level.
I will try to check it sometime today and see what the oil level is.
Thank you

What they tell u and what they do are 2 different things.
If you don't have a dipstick you should install one. If you do, check the oil level and if it's ok, then you likely have an oil level sensor problem. Said oil sensor is likely to have to be replaced. Use Hella (OEM) brand only...others seem to have problems.

I am a bit gutted why these auto mechanics who work on my car didn't able to solve this occurring message.
Thank you guys for your helpful response.
I will take it to another auto mechanic to have another look on the vehicle.
Just in case is something to do with the oil sensor, I will surely recommend the brand that you mentioned on your email, much appreciated.
Cheers

"SWITCH OFF ENGINE AND CHECK OIL LEVEL" but on the audi screen it says, oil level okay but the guage level is going down.
Any idea please! I hope to hear from you soon, thank you .
