RS5 - what's the full tank range? 270 miles or less?
I know RS5 owners probably don't fret about gas mileage.
But it's probably a pain if you commute it daily and run out of gas
quickly with the small gas tank capacity of 16.1 gallons.
I figured that once you consume 15 gallons, you'd have to fill it up.
So, how far does a full tank of gas get you ?
If you average 18 miles to a gallon x 15 gallons = 270 miles.
Do RS5 owners easily reach 270 miles on a full tank? or do you fill it up
at 250 miles or less ?

An RS5 owner on the other board said his best full tank range on the RS5 is 180 miles, and as bad as 140 miles ... I hope its not all that bad.

Strike that last statement, I do not have the same engine as an RS5 but you can assume that a 4.2 will be worse than my 3.0 when it comes to gas.

Okay. Here are my results...
Last night I filled up and the displayed range showed 280 miles. However, I don't think these figures are all that trustworthy as it still displayed 280 miles left when I got home. That was after driving 17 miles. This morning I drove about another 20 miles or so on the way to work before it dropped to 275. So no change for about 35-40 miles...
Anyway, I'm pretty sure I usually see a figure around 300+ when I refuel. I drive in Dynamic mode fairly aggressive with 50/50 mix city/highway.

Hey Mstam .. Right now you have 448 miles on your trip meter. If you reset that to 0 miles, then the next time you refill your gas, you'll know your actual full tank's mileage range.

Just returned from a 2860 mile trip from ND to WA and return with my 2012 S5. 131.2 gallons for 21.8 mpg. Mostly interstate (I-94 and I-90) at 82 mph.
