S5 Transmission Options?
Can someone tell me the transmission options that have been available on the S5? I just drove a 2012 with an "automatic", now this is going to sound really stupid, but was it a DCT or an automatic? I believe they originally had automatics, but I don't know if they've ever switched to a DCT. The thing shifter very quick. I used to have a TTS and it felt very similar, but I had the salesman (VW dealership) yacking in my ear, so I really couldn't concentrate.
The reason I'm asking is that I am going to be looking for a used S5, and need to decide if I want a manual or an auto. I'll probably be looking at MY08-'10.
Thanks.

Not true. The B8 S5 (V8) was available as a 6MT and regular Tiptronic. The B8.5 S5 (MY2013+) got a new engine and the Tiptronic was replaced in favor of the S-tronic dual clutch transmission. The 6MT is unchanged.
EDIT: Also with the switch to the S-tronic, the torsen center differential was also replaced with the new better self-locking crown gear center diff, but the 6MT still has the torsen center diff.
