Default But 2.0T falls far short of the original 2.3L 5-cyl turbo . . .

especially in a car the size of the A5.

Default I think the R8 should get a turbo version, and that same engine should also put in the RS5 . . .

It would make sense.

Note: As things already stand, the debut model of the R8 has essentially the same V8 engine as the existing RS4.

I don't think that a V10 is the way to go for the R8. Heavy, uneconomical etc., (Leave that for Lambos etc.)

I do think the R8 should get a turbo version to truly compete with the Porsche 911 Turbo. That would also be an ideal powerplant for an RS5.

I suggest a twin-turbo'd 3.2(or 3.5 liter) V6 engine for an RS5 (and also for the R8-turbo).

Its rating for the RS5 should be 450bhp. For an R8-turbo I suggest 500BHP.

Anyone at Audi listening?

b.t.w. regarding the rumoured 5-cyl turbo unit, I do agree it would great for an RS-TT application.
