TPMS - Disable or leave alone...opinions?
After reading the various threads about the A5 TPMS, I'm beginning to wonder if it's not more hassle than it's worth. I'm actually considering buying a VAG-COM and getting the code to disable the system instead of including TPMS with the winter set I will be purchasing. The cost is nearly a push and the benefit of having a VAG-COM seems to be greater than having the TPMS. Opinions?

There are a lot of more 'basic' cars that provide readouts for actual PSI ratings.
No doubt TPMS can be useful but honestly, Audi hasn't done a good job with this implementation. It should read out PSI and identify the actual wheel that is 'low' so you don't have to check all 4 of them to see which one needs to be topped up.

Does anyone know the VAG-COM setting to disable the TPMS?
I've pretty much made the decision to buy a VAG-COM for $395 instead of spending $248 on the TPMS for my winter set. The extra $150 seems well worth it, especially considering the problems everyone seems to be having with the pressure monitoring system. Does anyone know the VAG-COM setting for the TPMS and the code to disable it?
