In a situation where the supply of replacement parts is limited, yeah, your's does sound a bit like a "me first" attitude.

Wow. Luckily neither me or my Audi dealer are confused about the situation. Somehow they managed to plan ahead and have parts available to rectify a significant safety and reliability issue. (They did a same day repair on a coworkers Q5 as well).

Shame on me for asking audi to meet my expectations.

Happy New Year everyone.

Hey, congratulations and well done! Happy New Year to you as well, and remember to live by the motto "never argue with an idiot because he will bring you down to his level and beat you with expertise".

Very good advice.

I'll also be sure not to mention other satisfactory repairs performed by Audi lest someone get their panties in a wad over it.

Default What dealer to you use?

Your experience sounds so different than mine. You are fortunate to have a well-managed dealership. I'd love to know which one you use. Thank you.

you should be able to see the edge of the pump, and it should be aluminum.
Thanks for the info (to you and everyone else that's contributed to this thread). Can you or anyone else provide an image (of said pump) so I'll know if I need to call my dealer and have them replace or not.

Audi of Smithtown on Long Island. They have two R8 Cabrio's in stock with your name on them ;-)

I believe the owner is the same as Lexus of Smithtown...where I've been a customer for 10 years. Both locations have outstanding service departments.

I use DFW Audi. Their service department is fantastic. Not only do they do the service, they take me to/from the airport. They are replacing the part this week while I'm traveling.
