Yes. It will take ever so slightly longer to swap the boxes than it does to open the trunk.

Default The box looks identical, except for the logo. All the radio sees is a received signal that it

amplifies & puts out to the speakers.

Default I dunno about the S5, but on the current A4, I think as long as the head

unit is ready for sat. radio, you can buy either tuner (it mounts in the trunk and it's kinda plug-n-play)... others will surely know more.

Default nothing is certain yet, but they're talking about letting users choose

their programming a la carte from both services. Who knows if that will be reality. or when.

Default They're broadcast on different frequencies, even diff bands iirc. So, unless

the transmitters are tunable (doubtful) the current receivers will continue to receive only what they're getting now. That is, unless they totally revamp what they're piping to the birds, which again seems dubious.

Of course, the XM VP of ops came to talk to us *before* the merger announcement, and I'm sure he probably won't be back this year.

Default I follow all of this, but I have a B6S4 and if I want to add RNS-E I need to buy a new XM receiver..

because my old receiver is not compatible with the new head unit. Audi no longer sells its cars with an XM radio option. So my question is, will the XM receiver that is currently being used with RNS-E head units be compatible with the Audi S5 head unit.
