20"x10" OR 20"x10.5" wheel for B9 A5 Sportback
Hi everyone!
I just got a B9 A5 sportback and am changing the wheel to a 20"x10" OR 20"x10.5".
What are the advantages and disadvantages for both 10" and 10.5"? (e.g. wear and tear to wheel bearing, suspension set up, steering column?)
I am hoping to keep the car for the next five years.
My criteria for the wheels would be:
1) Most Concave-look
2) Fender flush setup (without spacer)
3) Lowering spring set up
I am thinking of the following offset ET:
1) 20" x 10" ET30
OR
2) 20" x 10.5" ET36
Note: (personally had tried 20" x 10.5" ET30 and there was a slight protrusion)
Any recommendation greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

20x10 is well proven to be the ideal fitment for the A/S5. The concavity gains from a 10.5 vs 10 probably aren't worth the fitment challenges. TAG ran countless 20x10.5 set ups on their S5 SB, but also had the luxury of most being forged wheels made to order (meaning they could spec the offset, versus most off-the-shelf cast/flow formed wheels which generally have a set offset (maybe two) for any given size and application).
20x10.5 ET36 may not work. Outside "flushness" (poke) is equal to a 20x10 ET30, but a half-inch closer to the suspension (and nearly an inch closer compared with stock 19" fitments). Also, you'd have to run 275s ... and on a 10.5, they're super stretched. Hell, they're stretched on a 10-inch wide wheel. 285s would still have a bit of stretch, but may not work given in the offset, and 295s would square up nicely on a 10.5 but would definitely rub.
Also, to go ET36 you'd have to run forged, made-to-spec wheels as there isn't a cast/flow formed off-the-shelf wheel that I know of in an Audi 5x112 / 66.6CB that's 20x10.5 ET36.

Moving ahead, I think i will go ahead with 20" x 10" ET30 (Front) and ET25 (Rear). Any suggestions to the staggered offset? Is 5mm difference between the front and rear the typical offset setup?
