Default 2019 RS5 Pricing

I'm wondering what people have been getting off a new RS5 SB . Looking at one with an MRSP of $89790. The dealer is saying around $83K plus he is throwing in ceramic coating on the entire car. I would appreciate any info that you can provide. Just want to know if I can do better.

Thanks

Please if someone can provide feedback on this I would like to either make this deal or move on or push harder. don't know if this is what they are really going for these days.

Thanks again.

83K would be about 9.2% off. That's pretty darn good in my book even without the ceramic coating (depending on brand, might not be worth much).

I know there are others who are more aggressive on pricing here, but Audi Car Club of NA gets 6% off most cars (with some exclusions, often including RS cars) typically. I usually start at 6% and consider anything above that gravy.

Vinyl paint protection or throwing in Audi Care might be some other suggestions for extras to ask for, but honestly, 9% by itself is very good in my opinion.

Thank for your reply. I was in the dealership when the installer of the ceramic coating was trying to explain the cost to the GM. It was $1250 Idon't know the brand they use. He said I was welcome to watch the install if I went with this deal.

Thanks again for your input.

Some light reading: https://avalonking.com/blog/the-trut...amic-coatings/

I would only pay $1000+ for a high quality ceramic coating with the proper paint correction performed by the installer. I would do vinyl for sure. Toss up if I ever do ceramic again.

In general 10% is about right for a unit sitting in inventory. Of course, depends on the dealer and region also, some have been moving their allocations pretty good and don't want to discount more than 3-5% while some have had units sitting on their lots for months now and are more motivated.

Really 10% is avg? didn't know that. maybe I need to push them harder. I am trading my 2019 Q8 which he sold me 5 months ago. Losing $4500 on that but I have dealt with the GM before and he said this was a GREAT deal ?? I know only losing $4500 is pretty dam good. Thanks for the input. Have to let him know tomorrow.

I am talking about the Houston market. Every city and market is different, you should check with your local Audi club and see if any members have bought one recently to get a feel for pricing. But last few deals I have seen for inventory units posted on these boards and elsewhere have been around 10%.

Ive been looking at the RS3 and RS5. The RS5 isnt selling, I wouldn't say 10% is the norm, but should not be hard to achieve. I'd be ok with the price you got if you want it now, but I'd expect there to be big discounts later (pure speculation on my part). I'd rather them give a discounted clear bra than ceramic coating if it were my car. I'm debating waiting to get a leftover one end of this year or early next year unless the new M3 or M4 is very compelling. What I really want is an RS3 but the family will say it's too small.

It has had mixed reviews and as cool as it is, doesn't feel unique or interesting as the RS3. With people leasing the f80,/82 for 500 a month makes it even harder to justify 90k for an RS5. Local dealer has a panther black one and a nogaro blue one im hoping won't sell.
