Default 2019 RS5 Sportback Brake Pad Replacement Question (not ceramic composite brakes)

I didn’t see a forum for the Sportback so I’m posting this here.

Last time my car was at the dealership they told me I would soon need new pads. Over the last week the “brake pad replacement” notification has popped up intermittently on the dash. I’ve changed brake pads on another car (non-Audi) before with Brembo brakes. It was easy: just. Open the fluid reservoir, push the pistons back in, pull the pad pins, pull out old pads, drop the new pads in, put pins back in and close the reservoir. Done.

I’d like to change the pads on the RS5 myself and have found the pads.

https://www.audionlineparts.com/oem-...ont-8w0698151n $182.31

https://www.audionlineparts.com/oem-...ear-8w0698451p $102.69

An independent Audi service told me I need new sensors as well. True? They want $383.35 for front brake parts and $262.69 for rears. Labor is separate. Seems high given the prices from audionlineparts.com.

Do need more than just pads? If so, sensors? Something else?

TIA.

OBDEleven to do the rear pads. You need to retract the parking brake so that you can retract the piston for the new thicker pads.

Directions:
Go to module 03, Basic Settings, then Start Line Service Mode (to open), then End Line Service Mode (to close).

Welcome. This forum is broken up by model build, not model type, so with a 2019 you're in the right spot.

@markfive — IIRC, you do need new sensors as well. If you search for on-line OEM parts you’ll find those sensors at a lower price than Audi quotes.
