And the UBER one I was riding in last week had plenty of wind noise. My B9 S5 SB has none, fortunately.

It wouldn't have been one the refresh models though (so only single pane). The refresh Model 3 is getting the acoustic glass, but it's only been released in Europe and Asia so far. From reviews it makes a huge difference. They also added a bunch of sound deadening to the interior as well.

I have no strong opinions one way or the other toward frameless windows. I think they're fairly cool and add a touch of "sportiness" and I think it's a bit lame to lose them in the new gen but I would never base a purchasing decision on something like that.

That's kinda what I was getting-at with my previous question. Like 4-door versions of A4 and A5 are maybe becoming one car. So, makes sense that it will look similar to the current A4.

Agreed.

Well, the Cabrio can't have framed-windows, can it?
Maybe the hard-top 2-door coupe gets to keep it after-all?

We have yet to see if this will even be a thing at all. The A5 Sportback outsells the other body styles by magnitudes, and Audi's killed their other 2 coupes this year as well so who knows what will happen to the last 2-door Audi. Even Mercedes killed their C-class coupe to pretty much combine it with the E in the form of the CLE, which has the size and quality of the C but the price and powertrains of the E.

I'm surprised to see the A4 e-tron looking like the more sportback and sporty offering out of the A4 and A5. Also strange that they are doing two sportbacks, although maybe the A4 will have a regular sedan 3 box shape and a liftback.

I'm guessing the car in the first 2 photos is the A4 etron? Interesting that they seem to be going with the split headlight design light BMW. The A6 etron concept has them too so I guess it's going to be an etron design feature.

Am I mistaken or is this the first time we've seen the A4 eTron in testing? I recall seeing the car on a random reddit post (somebody's wife parks in the same lot as a bunch of Audi engineers apparently) and thought it was the A6 since we haven't seen the A4 before, but that certainly looks closer in shape and size to the A5.

The Q6 and Macan have them too. Seems like all PPE cars will be going that way.
