Any idea what this is? Some kind of anti-static device?

Default Any idea what this is? Some kind of anti-static device?

Someone puked in my car and got it all over the seat controls and the side sill. I had to remove some parts to do a thorough cleaning. Upon scrubbing the carpet I noticed this white string came off the carpet. I was able to stick it back on no problem. However, that got me wonder. What the heck is that? Some kind of anti-static device? It looks really filmsy.

Based on all your dealer / service experiences, I think your dealership (service department) bugged your car. They are listening to you!

That's what I thought at first, but then it looked like a piece of string wrapped in a piece of foil. I looked in the service manual and couldn't find this referenced anywhere. You are probably right, it's a mic.

Don't know what it is, but I see it peeking out from under the door sill trim all of the time in the cars.

That's why you shouldn't be using your car to drive for Uber on Saturday nights.

I've seen this poking out of the door frame near the bottom while vacuuming my car and also wondered what it is. I almost pulled it out thinking it was a bag handle or something that got stuck.

No crazy drunk stories. One of my friends kept ordering double shots for this girl who rode in the passenger seat. It was 2:30am. She opened the door to throw up while my other friend got out to help her. All while a police helicopter was shining their spotlight on top of us thinking it was a car jacking situation.

I'm equipping my car with puke bags I stole from a plane...
