Here's a review that goes a bit into the undersides of the A5. They talk about the suspension at 5:00

So...after reading the posts so far (knowing this is a subjective thing to begin with), my impression is that the A5 sport suspension is probably fine without the adaptive capability. Other commented about the SR5, but what about the S5 without adaptive suspension capability? Any opinions about the need for the adaptive capability for an S5?
Adaptive suspension is optional on most models. The S5 comes standard with a fixed sport suspension, that's more sporty/firm than the A5 sport suspension. If you move up to the RS5 the standard sport suspension is even firmer. That's how it works as you progress up the performance ladder. You compromise comfort for handling and flatter cornering.

They are not that expensive to replace. If you go aftermarket you usually need to replace them all and they may not integrate with Drive Select.
