BBS CH-R or CH-R2
I had my mind set on getting the BBS CH-R2 rims for the SB - 20x10.5 in platinum matte (Car is Glacier White).
But some of the photos I see of Audis with CH-R looks good as well. I like the multi-piece style of the CHR-2 but I also like the sportiness of the CH-R. And its difficult to decide not being able to see a single photo of the car with these wheels.
So naturally I turn to AW for influencial advice (because once and AWOTer, always an AWOTer) - IF you had a choice between CHR and CHR2 for a Glacier White sportback, which one would you get and why?

While I have seen many cars where the three piece look of the CH-R2 or similar wheels look great (90s 911s for example), I don't like them on the Audi S5. Just a personal preference really, it is hard to clarify beyond that. I just find them too busy for the design of the car.
I had the CH-Rs on my Audi Q5 and loved them. I almost went with them again for my S5 but decided to go a different direction this time - https://www.audiworld.com/forums/aud...hread-2934183/
I'm curious, why are you looking to move to such a wide wheel compared to stock? The reason I ask is that the BBS wheels you are looking at are pretty flat faced regardless of the width of the rim. I might be hitting on a touchy subject but one of the only reason I can think to move to that rim size on our cars would be to achieve a deep concave look. Otherwise you are adding weight and potentially throwing off the overall suspension geometry without a gain that I'm aware of. I was tempted to go wide just to achieve the concave look but decided against it in the end.

Obviously to each their own but I prefer the look of the CHR's here. The CH-R 2's are a bit busy... maybe it is hardware and the lack of a lip. In contrast, I prefer the LMR's much more than the CH-R 2's.
The CHR fits great on the S5's. There is a Sepang Blue S5 with the CHR's out there for your reference.

Thanks guys. That's exactly what I imagine. How busy the 2-piece would look on the sportback. I haven't seen an S5 Sportback with the CH-R2 so I'm just really basing it on my imagination. Sorry for the lack of photos... if there are photos out there we probably won't have this thread

Probably neither, as I doubt they will fit in ET35 (CH-RII) and most definitely not in ET25 (CH-R). There is less room for a wide wheel on the B9 S5 vs the B8 S5. A quick look at Audi specs will tell you 5.5mm less per side, but it seems at least double that from recent posts. BBS currently do not recommend any wheel wider than 9" on the B9 A5/S5. Funnily enough, as BBS make the OEM 9x20 ET34 option wheel for the A5/S5.

Should have added, the BBS recommended B9 S5 fitment for the CH-RII, which you will likely find too conservative, is 9x20 ET30. Normally, I would agree with others that the 2 piece CH-RII wheel can look fussy, but I think it works really well on a white S5 SB:

CHR has been done a few times by B9's. I've seen them on the S5 and the S4 already.

Tommy@Nemesis is using a 20x9 ET25 fitment, because he was concerned anything wider would not fit. There was some banter about that, as some on Audizine were complaining the wheels weren't concave enough for their tastes. I think he is right, anything wider would not have fitted.
But from a scrub radius viewpoint, a 9" wheel on ET25 is ugly. But those guys never consider steering geometry.
