Default Convenience opening of windows and sunroof not working on my A5 sportback

The convenience feature isn’t working when I hold the unlock button down on my key. I have the correct item checked in the settings menu and have unchecked and rechecked it but still when I hold down the unlock button after the car has been locked for a while the windows won’t go down. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I go to the dealer and look ridiculous when they show me something simple I’ve overlooked.

I have found in order for this feature to work, you have to be standing pretty much next to the car.

Even if the actual remote range is much further, for roll up and roll down, you need to be very close to the car.

Thanks Stan for the reply. I have tried close and far with no results. I keep thinking I am missing something or something is not turned on but according to the manual all settings are correct. I wonder if there is something wrong with my key?

It doesn't work for me when my driver side window is buggy.
If "auto" feature for windows is not working properly it is also affecting this one.

Thanks to the suggestions here I fixed the problem by resetting all 4 windows according to the owners manual. It occurred to me that the problem started after I had my windows tinted. The tinter had to defeat the window raising function to get a full tint and didn’t reset them properly. Hopes this helps someone else with a similar problem.

From pg 46 of the manual:
  • Pull the power window switch up until the window is completely raised.
  • Release the switch and pull it up again for at least one second .
