They're very thin but more than that they don't seem to be very good at cleaning bird poop or other grime off the windshield. Haven't really had this problem with other cars. They do fine in rain.

Thoughts?

Also, do you think the rear window needs a wiper on the SB? I find it gets dirtier and has more water droplets than my mid-sized sedan.

No issues so far, but experience is limited in SoCal where rain is an "event" and sprinkles are deemed "stormageddon" by local news channels. But I will say, I wish they were a little more hidden under the hood line when in the down position.

But presumably you do get bird poop in SoCal right?

Yes, wipers do ok, but don't seem to "hug / stick" to the surfuce of the window as well the ones on my Lexus IS did. The arms themselves seem somewhat flimsy compared to my old ride.

Get your *** out of the car and clean it with some windex and paper towel. Why smear the bird poop with the wiper blades?

Non-Amonia Glass cleaner and a MicroFiber towel. Far less abrasive on the glass.

The glass is not going to be abraded by a paper towel.... lol

but a microfiber used specifically for the glass is best because it doesn't leave particulate behind.

Not going to re-use that microfiber after I clean bird poop with it.

What year was your last car? Audi and other manufacturers have been using the new flex blade wipers for a while. Their design allows them to conform to the shape of the windshield for maximum contact. They are more aerodynamic, so they don't go airborne at higher speeds and they are less noisy. They are so good I've put aftermarket Bosch flex blades on my wife's car, too.

I concur with others to not use the wipers and smear bird poop etc all over the windshield. Pull over at a gas station, clean it at home or keep some paper towels and cleaner in the car. FWIW, I use a 50/50 mixture of water and 91% alcohol to clean the grime etc. off inside and out. Forget about commercial cleaners, they all leave some kind of residue.
