ECU tuning and TD1
I'm just curious about how many of you who got their ECU remapped while it's still under warranty or waited until after the warranty expired? And any of you got a TD1? Did you get a TD1 after flashing it back to stock?

I’m only bringing it back for the routine service.
I do hope Audi doesn’t read this. Lol

I don't plan to get an ECU tune inside or outside of warranty based on the experience with my B8. That platform had the warranty extended on several potential engine failures by Audi as a result of class-action lawsuits and it is likely that TD1 would have voided that coverage.

Why do you pay stealership prices?
Maybe I'm missing something since this is my first Audi, does Audi stuff for free for their customers?

so far only oil change. I already got my free first service and paid Audi care for the future services. So technically I prepaid for my services.

Reflashing back to stock does not avoid TD1, as the Audi system can easily see rewriting of the ECU. There should never be a refresh of the ECU unless done by an Audi dealer with must be recorded when software is released by corporate. Basically thee is a 99.9% chance of a TD1 on 99.9% of all ECU tuning if the car is ever plugged into to an Audi diagnostic computer. Before ANYTHING can be done the system first checks for ECU tampering. Literally you dealer can't look at a check engine light for you without a TD1 being implemented.
