Faint squealing from left side - How do I get the dealer to fix this?
Just bought a CPO 2018 A5 SB Prestige, obviously still under the new car warranty.
There's a very faint squealing on the driver side that sounds almost like an old shopping cart or perhaps even high pitched whistling. It sounds like it's coming from outside, and it only occurs between 40 and 75 MPH, with it being consistently present at 52-60 mph. I can't tell if it's the suspension or some whistling from the air.
I already took it to the dealer who just said they can't hear it. Anyone have an experience like this? If not, how do I get the dealer to fix it? I don't think it will show up on a recording.
Thanks all

IN my experience with dealers, if they can't find something I know is there, I always ask for the service manager and have him take a ride with me so I can show him what it is. It has worked every time for me. Once you point out something to them they can't say they don't know what you're talking about.

Anyway, it turned out to be the mirror housing or something in the mirror causing whistling. They took it apart and felted it and it's fine now. Might get a moment of whistling for an instant now and then, but it's more or less resolved.

Do you remember the name of the dealership or anything that might help me to get in touch with them? I’m fine taking apart and looking at the mirror but any help/focus would be helpful.

Always amazes me how often dealership mechanics goes temporarily partially deaf and/or blind when they don't want to or can't fix a problem.!!
