Default Hankook or something else?

Couple a days ago I read an article that the S5 and S5 SB should come with a specially designed tire for Audi from Hankook.
However, almost all the cars on the various car sites are showing Continental tires. I never heard anyone ever say anything positive about
Continental tires, what tires are your cars coming with?

From Autoblog: You'll get some push if you really shove the coupe into a corner, but the Hankook tires developed specifically for the S5 have respectable grip. In US trim, the car's curb weight should come in about 100 pounds lower than last year's model, which weighed 3,858 pounds; the quoted 3,560-pound figure is for a European-spec car.

From Autotrader: The extra weight of the V6 becomes more noticeable in the tight switchbacks of the Portuguese mountains, but decent grip comes courtesy of Hankook tires developed expressly for the S5.

I'd make sure you get the Hankook and not the crapy Continentals!

The Continentals are definitely not crappy tires. All tires are Audi specific and meet the same testing requirements. You will be unable to tell the difference on street driving between any of the Audi specific tires.

Unless you opt for the 18" all season tires; in which case you get the Pirelli P7 tire.

I can confirm that the S5 coupes in Canada have the hankooks . The A5 s line had the continentals . This is atleast what I notice on the few A5/S5 I've checked out at the local dealership.

You will find at last two different brands of tire per size (exception is the A4 allroad). It is not something that is dependant on the wheel or if you are in the US or Canada.

The A5 SBs I've seen on dealers' showrooms here in Germany have all had Continental tires.
