By Valet, do you mean the people who drive up the loaner car for you? No, never, and never even crossed my mind to tip them.

Yea, the guys who drive up to pick up your car and give you the loaner. Just wondering. I might give the guy a fiver.

I have seen people tip the car wash guys and rarely the Geniuses at BMW if they help a customer out with some technology problems but never the service/lot porters. But if you do tip them, you will definitely stick out in a good way and I bet your car will be priority for them when you pick it up (granted it is the same porter).

Local dealers don’t have valets. As mentioned SA and Techs get tips which doesn’t seem to be common as every time they seem shocked (or at least they pretend to be shocked).

What do you mean by that? Your local Audi dealership doesn't offer valet drop off/pick-up service? I thought it was a national service

The valet guys don't get paid a lot.

I think their is some confusion in the term valet here.

There are service porters who bring the cars from the service drive to the tech bays and bring around service loaners. I think we all assumed this is what you were talking about since you mentioned before guys who bring you a loaner vehicle and take your car.

Then there is the valet service guys that come to your home/office and drop off a loaner. The valet drop off/pick up guys you can tip if you want but they are most likely the same service porters mentioned previously.

I give my service advisor two dozen donuts when I drop off the car. I feel that is enough to take care of all the guys.
