It's here!!! 2018 Audi S5 Sportback navarra blue... pics!!
Just wanted to post a few pics of the new ride. Came in a two days ago. I must say, I was reluctant when it arrived (got it from a dealership a few hundred miles away). I had obviously seen and drove one prior but was concerned on how much smaller it was compared to my A6 that I gave back. I've spent two days with it and drove it on highways and local roads. Wow, what a difference. It's obviously faster but the control and lack of body roll (compared to an A6) is amazing. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and wanted to share a few pics. Only constructive criticism is the bit of lag you feel prior to the turbo kicking in. Otherwise, I'm content with it and can't wait to open it up a bit. What kinda changes do I want to make exterior wise??? hmmmm.... love to hear any recommendations.

Congrats. I too took delivery of my S5 SB yesterday after trading in my A6. Today will be spent setting up Audi Connct, garage door openers, and adding some VCDS tweaks. I echo your observations, but the lag is nothing compared to the TDI.

One correction - that lag you are experiencing is not due to the turbo, it's due to the throttle mapping Audi is using in order to achieve higher fuel economy (probably in conjunction with the B-cycle engine at low revs). You should notice that when the transmission is in S or M mode that there is virtually zero lag. It's not zero lag, like the B8 supercharged engine hooked up to a DSG transmission, but it's probably as close to zero as you are going to get on a torque converter automatic.
Back in the early 90's I drove an 87 Thunderbird Turbocoupe which had a 2.3 liter 4 banger producing 190hp. Turbo lag was having to get that engine up past 3500 rpm before any boost would develop. With the S5 the boost is available at close to idle speeds.
