Default Piano Black center console protection?

It came up on another thread that the piano black finish on the B9.5 may be easily scratched. That got me thinking about what can be done to protect it. Will a Ceramic Pro coat do the job? or a Clear wrap? Another other thoughts?

Looks cool but I don't think I want to run without the center console for a couple of weeks. 😜. I have ZERO experience in doing any protection coat so I don't even know what I mention is even viable..

Wonder if the B9 trim can be retrofitted in the face lift. The MMI controller is gone so it may need to be cut to match the cubby hole that is there now, but the rest of it should be the same?

Following. I think I am going to have mine wrapped unless I see something show here more appealing. My wife's jewelry always leaves micro scratches.

I actually wanted to replace it with the natural gray oak, but I'm not spending $1200 on that.

I do like the piano black, just was wandering if it will be easily scratched.

YES.

I like it, but I am OCD about my car.

Cool, I just did a full front wrap and I was asked to go back in about 3 weeks so they can check it again after everything settles. I'll talk to the shop then and I should have my lidded storage bin by then so they can do it all together.

While it can scratch easily, if you’re careful when wiping it down (not dry- spritz soft microfiber towel and spritz surface before wiping) it’s not terribly difficult to maintain. I’ve wiped mine down several times with a damp cloth after cleaning the interior and it still looks fine. If you have kids or others in the car who aren’t as mindful of it you may consider putting some PPF on it.
