Prices Paid for A5 SportBack

Actually is not unreallistic. If you want a Premium Plus I believe that's very doable as those things tend to sit in the dealer lot longer than Prestige and Premium models. The longer a car has been sitting in the dealer the more motivated the dealer is to let it go at a lower price.

I've actually been leaning towards a prestige, color upgrade with sline and cold weather. That's ~53k and without much work other than email have a 48k with destination. Plus tax. Wonder how low I can get it. I'd take a prestige on hand for discount of course.

I'm glad I found this thread, this gives me a little more hope that I'll be able to get the deal I'm hoping for this week.
Looking for a Premium Plus w/ mmi and sline and I'm only around 9.2% under sticker (plus my trade which, I think is semi reasonable).
Put feelers out to the dealers I'm willing to drive to and have Tuesday off, hoping all the stars align.

I may have done better if I had waited longer, but my 335 died on me, and this was the only Tango Red in Stock within 500 miles of me

How much wiggle room can I expect for a CPO? Seems like they will go $500 at most places - they will say $250 but won't want to lose you to another $250 or so. Doesn't really entice me vs buying new and trying to get a deal. I'm still haggling with multiple dealers. Excited for the end of month week to see what deals pop up.

I bought my A5 with 500 miles on it. MSRP $53,400. I paid $42,414 without taxes. It was in absolutely perfect condition.

Thanks for the info. I will follow your advice and ask for much more or walk. I was also looking at BMW cpo and seems like they move more than Audi out the gate. Most the 2018 CPO I see near me are MSRP 53k and range from 45-47 ask. Which has me scratching head when few say 500 off tops when I have gotten new cars down to 47 before walking into dealership.

Used cars dont follow the same pricing structure as new cars, and you cant really compare the deals.
The used car market is driven by direct competition - Buy the car that has the specs you want with the lowest listed price (and you can only really compare locally), don't expect to get more than $1k off ever - there's no incentive programs for the dealers and no kickbacks like there are with new cars that allow the dealer to artificially discount the selling price.
A lot of people travel to buy CPO cars since spec sets are harder to match
