Default Proximity Courtesy Light

My other car is an Acura and I had a loaner MDX. When I walk towards it the courtesy light turns on which is nice.

Can we make our A5/S5 do the same? Through OBDEleven? As far as I know our Audis don't do that, which makes the courtesy light that much less meaningful.

Hitting unlock on the key fob works. I do not know of any hands free capability. Hopefully someone will chime in with a better solution.

Yes, I loved that feature on my wife's MDX.

That's creepy. I don't want my car looking around for me.

I enjoyed having the exterior lights come on when I walked up to my old Lexus for 11 years, so I was surprised when the current-model Audis and BMWs didn't support it. I always felt like the point of the lighting was to illuminate any puddles or other obstacles around the car as you walk up to it, so it seems silly to only turn on the lights when you're already standing in the puddle

My Lexus IS350 F sport would do this as well. Was actually a very nice feature. Like the car was beginning to wake up as you approached.
