Where you have it looks perfect but I suspect it's not possible via a BlendMount.

I'm taking photos and will post my continuing adventure of wiring up two dashcams and my Passport Max 360 in a little bit.
Scoopman: Do you have any pictures of your Max360 mounted in your car? I'd love to see.

Let me see if I do, but I've since sold off my Max360 in favor of the Uniden R3. R3 is much smaller and also has much less falses than the Max does, while preserving long range detection.

Suction cups. I was toying with eventually getting a new detector in the future and didn't want to spend the cash for the BlendMount if that was a possibility.

So I made an attempt to take the big cover (behind the mirror) off myself today since I have a pry tool kit. The right (passenger side) of the cover came off as described. But I cannot get the left front (closest to the headliner) to come off. Is it the same kind of clip as the right side of the cover?

Thanks.

It's the same type of clip.

So the dealer popped the whole mirror off for me free of charge. That allowed me to get the wires tapped when I got home. I did end up taking the middle piece and big pieces off, as I couldn't put the mirror back on without taking off the middle piece. So took a while to work through that. But everything's closed up and the radar detector is mounted. I did get a GPS signal complaint on my 9500ix, but just the one time. But I'll monitor that before worrying about it.

So no problem getting the mirror opened up, but I can't seem to get the wire taps into the slots with the wires in. Managed to get the housing disconnected for easier access, but feels like the wire taps are too thick when a wire is already in a slot.

Any suggestions on alternativesnto get them in there?

Thanks!

Could it be that you're using a tap that's a little too big? I think I bought the one that came w/ different sizes so that I wouldn't need to deal w/ the fit issue. After testing each one, I settled on one that fit (though I don't remember which, at this point). That's the best solution I can think of if your current wire is really too thick. Hope that helps a little.

Tap was too big...shaved it down and it fits perfectly now!
