Red Brake Calipers
Hey guys my S5 SB should be arriving by the end of this month but I didn't option the red brake calipers ($500 here in Canada). I was wondering if dealers usually have these parts on hand so maybe I could pay to switch them before I recieve the car? Or should I find a auto detail shop to do it, although I'm not sure if the quality will be as nice as a factory red caliper.

If the dealer has the red calipers in stock it is going to cost you a whole lot more than the $500 factory option. IMO your best bet would be having them powder coated.. I like red, but if you decide to have them painted or powder coated why not go with a different color. This way your car will stand out from the others...

Sport rear differential
Sport adaptive damping suspension
Red brake calipers front and rear
oh yeah and a $2500 price tag
But with that said, I figured I was already talking about a $65K car and I kinda wanted everything in the package so what's an extra $2500 at that point.

Yeah same here. Well the car I got was a dealer demo that was fully loaded so didn't realize it was an option. Can't believe they don't include the red brakes for free though

Yup... in hindsight $500 isn't much compared to the cost of the car. I just didn't know if red calipers would look kinda tacky on the SB. In my view, they should be reserved for proper two door sports cars, but I'll be the judge of that after I see them in person. Oh well I guess I could always go the paint/ powder route if I really want them red later on.
