Res Delete RS5?
#11
I also had my front resonators cut out at a muffler shop and straight pipe welded in. Cheaper and easier to do than buying a kit. With the removal of these resonators, you will get some drone around 3k RPMs, anyone who tells you differently is lying.

I bought the 034 resonator delete kit.
I don’t get any done, not lying 😜, however I used my obdeleven tool to turn the “Soundaktor” off completely.

I’ve had both. The 034 kit in my S5 and the straight pipe in my RS5. Both produced resonation around 3k rpms, most noticeable when highway cruising. Maybe we have different definitions of drone

I just wanted OP to be aware that there will be resonance/drone at highway cruising speeds, since he specifically asked. There have also been reports of exhaust leaks with the bull-x/034 with clamps, having straiaght pipe welded in will minimize that possibility.

Does anyone have the VW/audi part number for the clamps?

I think drone is a relative term. You are cutting out resonators - the part that is meant to reduce resonation, so naturally there will be increased drone/resonation. As for the comfort setting, that is correct, it does drive like stock in comfort.

Ok, my brother has a B8.5 and he cut the rear res and replaced with an X-pipe and there is no drone....every car is different tho. Thank you for the feedback.

If you are cruising your RS 5 at 3000 rpm you are definitely breaking speed limits. My ‘21 cruises around 82-84 mph at 2300 rpm. I don’t need to go faster than that.

I'm extremely sensitive to drone and didn't notice anything with the res delete. The valve controller on the other hand produced drone and I had to remove it (a lot of people say it doesn't...again I'm pretty sensitive to drone).
