Default Rocker Panels - Fit & Finish

Just noticed a potential issue w/ my rocker panels on my s5- they don't really seem to fit flush with the bottom of the door, essentially leaving somewhat of a shelf. Which seems somewhat surprising on a car of this class.

I don't know if it's my car - or normal. But... it seems like the rockers (which are just plastic) are either pivoting a bit towards the center of the car, or something is causing them to be slightly bowed.

I mentioned I just noticed this... I don't know if it was always like this. About three weeks ago I had it in for opticoat. Since then, it was back at the dealership for a window issue, and I had an extra-log vacation courtesy of Hurricane Irma. So - I've probably only have used the car for about a total of 7-10 days since then.

And... since I had the wheels done, I know it was up on a lift. While the issue itself is very minor, I'm concerned there is potentially something larger going on - but don't know if I want to make it a big deal as of yet.

Please take a look and see if this seems typical... It's really hard to see in pictures, but I placed a straight edge on that "shelf" where it seems to be misaligned.

Rocko, did you look underneath to see if lift pads were not placed in the correct location?

It appears it was - I say that because there looks to be a rubber coating on the pinch weld for rust prevention that was somewhat torn up in the process. But no damage to the underside of the rockers/side skirts that I can see. That being said, since they are plastic, perhaps might be a bit less obvious on the surface.

I think you should try to get a look at another car to see if those panels appear to be warped.

My rockers sit slightly 'proud' from the base of the door.
