Default So back from the dragstrip with some baseline passes...

Took my 2019 RS5 coupe to the dragstrip to get some baseline passes today before I start modding it...

100% stock, 548 miles on it, 1/4 tank of 93... DA was 2,423 per dragtimes, my weather station showed slightly higher...

DA Calculator - Density Altitude Calculator Thompson Drag Raceway - DragTimes.com

Run 1 - Got there and went right into the staging lanes and was first in line, opened the hood and waited about 30 minutes before making a pass. All nannies off and in auto mode, IE let the car shift itself. I tried to shallow stage but the brakes on this car are touchy so wasn't perfect but ok. I held the brake firm and stomped the gas on the first yellow and dumped the brake on the last yellow. Cut a decent light not that it matters... lol Car ran great and shifted flawlessly and I knew it was a fast time... Drove around and got the slip...

1.6404 60ft
4.7761 330ft
7.4031 1/8 mile
92.88 1/8 mph
9.6667 1000 foot et
11.6078 1/4 time
116.19 mph

I am very impressed with the stock ET and trap, I was honestly hoping for 11.7-11.8 at 115ish. Conditions were good but not great.

Made two more passes an 11.65 at 115.30 and a 11.70 at 116.50. Spun on the last run slightly as the sun was down and it was a little slick. Decided I was happy with the 11.60 and headed home...

Will be sending the ecu to APR either late this week or next week and will be back at it in the next few weeks, hoping for very low 11's on tune only.

Here is the slip...

Congratulations! Very nice considering the conditions.

Agreed and thanks... I thought based on my butt dyno it would be in the 11.7 range but was still surprised and happy with the ET and more so trap. Once I have the ability to build boost off the line the 60ft will come way down into the low 1.5x which will help a ton. Little better air and more seat time will help a ton as well... Pretty excited to see what I can get out of it this fall... There is a 1/4 mile list on vendorzine seems like best stock turbo time is 10.94 by APR, and Tanaka ran 10.88 with different turbos... We'll see once I get the tune on...

Very strong passes! The weather was not the best either. I ran 11.79 at 114 in my 100% stock full weight RS5 Sportback last year in 500 DA. Only time I ran it and made just three passes. Car was pretty new with less than 1500 miles. What’s the mileage on yours? I’ve heard these cars pick up a bit with more miles.

Thanks! Weather wasn't bad as the track sits at 1,320 to start with... temps were low 70's/high 60's when I left with low humidity but not the best air density... Given it's August I'll take it... lol Yeah, I knew your time as I reviewed the 1/4 mile post on vendorzine and figured given your extra weight but better conditions I'd be close which is why I was happy with the time and mph. Just not a lot of times out there to compare to... My tuned Macan turbo runs about the same times and the RS5 feels about the same, so again knew it would be in that range. I probably should have stayed later and tried to crack of a 11.5x but I was hungry and it was so crowded I took off... Car had 548 miles on that pass it's up to about 575 now... Yeah, I'm sure it will get stronger with a couple K miles, I don't/won't drive it much though. I'll probably put 500/1,000 miles on it a year... Really anxious to see what the tune will do for it...

Please keep me posted on the tune results as well. My car has 4K on it now. When the weather gets better might have to head out and try to beat your stock time lol

Do you still have the B8 S4 & what was the best time you ran?

I remember your B8 S4 times from back in the day. Curious to see what you do with the RS5.

Brake torquing will get you to your low 11's goal - put the APR money toward gas!
