Yeah I have the issue on my front passenger window and need to get it fixed, but I’m just procrastinating. The dealer originally put my set on. I’ve heard the same thing good things about XPEL, so I may go that route.

And your leather seats will NOT appreciate your passing on the tint. UV Rays are not their friend.

True, but I don't drive much and keep my car in the garage when not in use.

I went with Xpel PRIME XR Plus Ceramic 45% all around and 70% on the windshield on my S5. No scratches at all.

I too am someone who is bothered by the smallest of scratches. I mentioned our cars being prone to scratching to the tint shop and they said if it scratches or I am unhappy for any reason, they will replace it free of charge. They provide a lifetime warranty on the materials and work they provide.

My suggestion is to check with the tint shop and see if they will take care of you in case you develop scratches. To me the benefits (comfort, privacy, heat rejection, interior protection, etc) outweigh the cost and possibility of scratches.

Thanks for sharing this helpful info. No issues with the defroster lines on the rear window either?

No issues at all. The shop I go to really knows their stuff. They use top quality materials, tools, and techniques.

Tinted mine about a week ago with 15% and use ceramic tint.
So far I love it, the only slight downside I feed like with ceramic you get more reflection on certain sun angle, but that does not bother me at all. But no scratches on windows at all and I pull windows down daily

I'm going to the most reputable shop in my area and they have been very good about answering all my questions. I think I'm going to do it and cross my fingers that I don't run into any issues!

EDIT: They're giving me their best guy and the trainer from Xpel happens to be there and will be supervising the job! I guess I can't try to mitigate the risk anymore than this.

For anybody who might be wondering, the tint job turned out to be flawless. It pays to do some research and make sure that any special concerns are addressed by the tint installer, but I can attest that the end result is great!
