Default Tire Rotation

So I brought my wife's Prestige Q5 into the dealership today for the 10k service. I chose to pay the $80 for them to rotate the tires (Even though I probably should have waited until 20k). However, when my father was in town he noticed that the tires on my 2019 Prestige S5 are directional. He mentioned directional tires can not be rotated. Is he correct?

They can be rotated, they just go front to back on the same side. No cross over.

When I got my 10k service I didn’t get a tire elation, nor did anyone mention one. It also isnt included as part of the Audi maintenance schedule. Is rotating that important for a Awd? Why do you guy get them?

My dealer provides a complementary one at a 5,000/6mo. I didn’t know about it until one day I got a call from the dealer trying to schedule my free service. Planning to get it done here soon. I rotate my wheels every 10k service usually, but mainly because I always did it before owning an Audi, at 6k miles.

I'm surprised that they charge anything at all! Aren't the wheels removed to inspect the brakes? They want $$ just to roll the tires to the other side of the car? Lol

But they need to lift the tires up about 5 feet, that is expensive!
