Funny thing that radiators are essentially unchanged in design from 100 years ago. Still easily clogged with dust and debris. About time someone came up with a better alternative?

FWIW, those look like coolant hoses as opposed to oil or transmission fluid lines so I'm guessing it's just an auxiliary radiator. Happy to be corrected, though.

Transmission coolant radiator. I looked it up in the service manual.

awesome! Thank you. I’ve only had the car three weeks and am working my way through the manual. Guess I haven’t gotten there yet.

I am certainly NOT arguing but I'm amazed at the lines that attach to that radiator for Transmission Fluid - normally transmission fluid is circulated under high pressure, unless the Audi transmission has a low pressure cooling - heat exchanger system. Good to know!

I had to go back and find the coolant circuit diagram to double check this, but yes it has an ATF to coolant heat exchanger affixed to the transmission along with a thermostat.
