Default Wheel bearing issue on a new S5?

HI guys,
Went in last week to trade in my old Q5 3.0T with a new S5 SB. The car is exactly what I wanted in terms of options and color combo. Before we sign the papers we it took out for a spin and there was a clear noise coming from the front left wheel that was getting louder the faster we go? Decided to drive another car just to compare and there was definitely no such noise. The Tech examined it and said its a wheel bearing issue and will need to be replaced.
The car is brand new, and the dealership is now willing to give a good price on it but I'm not sure I should buy this car, and what are the chances of having other issues down the road?
Let me know if you had any similar experience and what would you do in this situation?

Thanks!

A wheel bearing is an isolated issue. I do not see why you should be scared that there will be other things that can go wrong with it. A wheel bearing will go bad when a car is accidentally strapped down too tight during shipping via land or by sea. The wheel bearing in my old Honda Accord went bad when it was transported from coast to coast by rail. They strapped the wheel down too tight.

Shouldn’t the dealer just replace the bearing - on a brand new car - under the factory warranty? If they wouldn’t do that, I’d fear it would be a real bad sign for any future repairs and I’d find another dealer who would respect me and my purchase.

We all vote with our $$$ and manufacturers know that.

The wheel bearing should be replaced before you buy the car.

You've already indicated the vehicle is what you want in terms of options and colors. The dealer agreed with your assessment of the problem and obviously is going to replace the wheel bearing. And has indicated a willingness to "deal" regarding the price. I would take advantage of the situation and dicker like crazy. My goal would be about 8-10 percent less than MSRP and that Audi Care is included at that price. I would not be much concerned about the rest of the vehicle. A manufacturing error can occur at any point in the process. I doubt they would all occur on the same vehicle.

Unless the car was manufactured during Oktoberfest.

Thank you all for your responses! I took AUDIQSS advice sincerely. The dealership replaced the wheel bearing and the car sounds fine. I was able to make a really good deal 10% off and also got a very good price on my trade in. The car will be under warranty for the time I have it so I'm not too concerned. Super Happy, will post pictures soon.

Thanks again.
