00776 - Level Control Sensor error
VAG COM says "Left Front - short to ground"...I'm getting intermittent errors on the dash - usually the headlight auto-dimmer icon on the computer display along with the yellow car suspension light on the tach (immediately right of the green headlight indicator when the headlights are turned on).
Connections have been checked and cleaned where possible, but still getting the same symptoms.
Which part am I looking to replace to fix this? Or is there something to try in VAG COM first before replacing? Something about the 402 mod, or is that irrelevant?

You will have to check both leads at the sensor for short to ground. Shut off the car (keys out), take ohmmetter (sp?), clip one lead to ground, disconnect connector from the level sensor and check for continuity (zero ohms) on both leads with other clip.
If there is zero ohms on any lead, you have electrical short somewhere on the way to the module.
If not, check for continuity on the sensor itself. Keep first lead grounded and touch with the other one to all leads conector has, not sure how many there are but probably only two.
If you don't have continuity on either sensor or wires, the module must be the culprit.
