Default 402'ing issues

Just got VAG-COM. Not familiar with it at all. Following the post on the FAQ, Channel 2 would read "Error: No Channel 2 signal" or something like that. Worked fine for channel 1 but not 2,3, or 4.

Any ideas? Bad sensor maybe? If it is a sensor, would it be all three sensors or possibly just channel 2?

Originally it was kicking my login off, but after doing some searching and adjusting a few things on my computer, that is no longer the case.

Hopefully this has happened to somebody else.

Default What's the cable? What's the VAG-COM version? Just my guess, the communication

now is more reliable than the original, but is still not reliable enough ???
Just my guess...

Default If one channel (sensor) comes back with errors, then every following channel will NOT work.

the VAG did not get a proper response, therefore it will not allow you to continue.
All of the 4 Channels (each sensor) must return with a "valid" value in order to apply data to channel 5 (module).

Un-hook the suspect sensor from the control arm and move it up/down to see if the values change in the VAG, if not, then it's most likely toasted.

Default you have to change the value, press "test", then go to the next...

had the same thing happen to me last week.

How would I see if the value changes? By doing the same steps I have been? vag-newb!

Default No, use a Volt/Ohm meter and do it on the spot, the sensor is a simple resistor.

Unplug it and move it up or down, that should change resistance values displayed on the V/O meter.
But if this isn't your piece of cake then better get someone who knows this stuff to assist.

Default Select controller '34', press 'Meas. Blocks -08', enter "005" in the 'Group' field, press 'Go!'.

You will see the signal values of each corner. Change the ride height, these values will change too, and the difference of each channel should be similar.

Is there any fault code in the suspension controller?
Select controller '34', press 'Fault Codes - 02', will show the fault code.

Default Code: 01437 Control postiion not learned 35-00- -

I went into the measuring block screen and entered 005. When I pushed on the car at every corner, each corresponding channel value changed.

Same think is happening: Error Channel 02 Not Available

Default The error code means you have not completed the 402. The ride height sensors seem fine.

Is your cable HEX-version? Is the version of VAG-COM 704.1? What are the protocal options in the options screen? Do you ever try to disable the anti-virus program in the PC? Do you ever try to 402 with engine running?

Default Figured it out.

The directions in the FAQ need a bit of fine tuning!
