'01 Allroad - always in the shop
A few weeks ago the fan belt (apparently) sucked in the harness that houses all of the electrical for my allroad. It tore up the teeth in the fan, punctured a hole in the radiator, all the coolant leaked out...the car had to be towed back to the dealer (totally un-drivable). After about 2.5 weeks in the shop, I got it back ~ with a bad rear suspension pump (which I hear is common). Anyone have similar probs?

In a word - No.
That sounds like a freak occurance. I can't imaging how a wiring harness gets into the fan, but I can only imagine the damage that could be done once it does. I don't think anyone on this forum has posted anything similar to this.
As for the rear suspension pump - there have been some failures which I think are easily addressed under warranty. Mine is fine with 40,500 miles.

Well, that's just the latest and greatest. Before that it was in (about 4x) to replace the A/C control unit b/c it was making an annoying buzzing noise in the center console area. Before that it was in b/c the entire headliner came down while driving with the sunroof partially open. Before that, it was in for some issues with the pneumatic suspension -- they found that some of the fuses weren't connected. Just wondering about these things. We bought it in late Dec 2001, it's got about 13K miles. Great car, but jut $%#@! frustrated.
