Default 01119- gear recognition signal questions fixes

So yes i have this crappy code and no tranny code and all of my searching has turned up that it is probably the f124 switch or shifter box otherwise known as the neutral safety switch. Has anyone replaced this switch and still gotten this code? Some people said tranny was on its way out that had this code but i have had oil leaks and chances are this switch got oil on it and is bad. I am about to give up on this car 2001 allroad 2.7t and i have fixed so damn much myself and still have to replace shocks for coil overs and do valve cover seals correctly since a shop couldnt do it right when i paid them. I am about two seconds from selling this pos and getting a jap car! Anyone have any input or experience? This thing has been a god damn money pit pita

Check first:
Transmission fluid condition. Transmission fluid level. Transmission fluid filter.

I just did a tranny flush and filter myself using vcds. Pretty sure from searching this is an issue with the neutral safety switch or gear recognition switch or f125 switch which ever name you choose to call it. I am getting rid of this pos audi, all i do is fix it and once i fix this it will be something else not to mention it looks like my turbo seals are leaking so *** this car, i am getting a jap vehicle!!
