13 pin wiring harness

13 pin wiring harness
Does anyone know of anyone that sells just the 13 pin wiring harness? My significant other cut one of the wires and now it is unusable. Audi will not sell me the wiring harness without the hitch. Since I already have the factory installed hitch, I don't want to spend another $515 for the kit.

The intent was to connect it directly to the battery wiring on the RV harness to recharge the battery while driving. I don't see any good way to re-attach it.

Here's a thought
Take a needle nose plier and pull half of the wires out of the hard, black plastic section. Yes, this will remove some of the conductive material, but bear with me.
Then splice a new section of 14ga wire into the newly vacated space. In other words, get some new wire, cut away a bit over half of it and then stuff it down into the newly vacated space.
Then, add a heatsink clip to the wire AFTER (or towards your black cable) and then drop solder the joint.
Basically, you stuff the wire down there, apply some flux, heat up the joint and drop some solder down into it. Wait ten seconds to cool and you are done.
Good luck.

Thanks, that seems a reasonable solution. Will post results!

What? That's crazy! Find another dealer...or try this link
I had a similar experience regarding an Audi accessory part that I needed replaced. The first dealer parts guy told me I couldn't get it and had to buy a whole new accessory. The second dealer took down the part number of the accessory, called someone at Audi on the phone, got the part number to order the part, and I had it within a week.
Given that the wiring harness is the most delicate part of the hitch, I would think you would be able replace it without plunking down the money for the hitch--that's ridiculous...
The wiring portion of the hitch is made by Jaeger in Germany, which I believe is at the link below. You might try contacting them direct...might even get it cheaper.

Erich Jaeger clicky

You know, Jaeger may even make the whole hitch assembly. I saw an Audi or VW in Europe that had a
supposed OEM option auto hitch very similar to Jaeger's Cartronix. Very cool idea; swings out when needed. The animation features a VW.
Actually I think it was the Touareg that had it, but it said it was only available on Touareg's in Europe.
