See if you can find a used RS6 rear system...

Thanks guys...this is great..I'd love to find an RS6 exhaust...know anyone in California who might have one for sale? or I guess I could ship it out if anyone has one in another state.

Ali when you got your pipes back from the center resonator, what size pipes did you get? 2.5" or can you go bigger? Where did you order them? Is this legal? how much louder is it?

Also what are your thoughts on order of getting exhaust and downpipes? Best to go with the cat backs first then do down pipes later..I had priced it out and it was close to 3K or more including labor...ouch

Then as far as best sounding exhaust...for that deeper throaty (almost V8 sound with out the "ricer" sound...what do you recommend?

I think they did 2.5" but I guess you could go 3" if you wanted to.

I got the tips and then the piping etc the muffler shop used their own materials.

Its legal as my cats are still there.

Its really not much louder than stock, just a little deaper and somewhat louder at WOT.

exhaust and downpipes are a great idea. if you want bang for the buck Vast piggie pipes (hollowed out stock downpipes) seem to be the way to go. if you plan on doing it all you could get the piggies then get some magnaflow or other brand high flow cats bypass the resonator completely and then some performance mufflers. probably run you around a grand and get the same results as the $3k system.

Default Performance Mods -- impact to gas mileage

Hi,

I'm new to Audi. Just bought a 2005 2.7T allroad and want to get some basic performance mods. Sounds like APR Stage 1 is a must. Wondering if the Valet mode helps gas mileage and if so, how much? Are there any other mods that will boost performance/deep sound and help gas mileage? Or at least not hurt it?

The Valet mode simply limits the top speed of the car to 30 mph. That's so your valet doesn't try to do 160 while you're in the restaurant.
