Default You'll need 20mm spacers to make them fit.....

I believe your S4 wheels are 17x7.5, et43. The allroad wheels are 17x7.5, et25. Sot to get from 43 offset to 25 offset, you'll need 18mm spacers, but 20 is the next closest size made. And don't forget the longer bolst you'll need too.

The correct tire size to upgrade from the 225/55-17 would be a 245/50-17.

Don't be afraid of the spacers. Almost all of us with aftermarket wheels have to run spacers to adapt wheels to the unique allroad offset. Just make sure you get good name brands- Hartmann or H&R- or you run the risk of vibrations. Allroads are very sensitive to fitment.

gracias Ed

your allroad sits nice - did you change out the suspension?, or is that the bottom setting? plan to keep stock susp till breaks.

would like to:

-tint windows - 20% sounds good, approx costs?, recommendations? things to bring up to installer?

-GIAC chip motor/trans

-upgrade front rotors to a slotted. two steep miles of downhill everyday plus tahoe runs almost every wkend in winter.

get rid of snow catchin twin spokes;
-use S4 wheels for Tahoe winters (p-zero-nero work great on the S4, or dunlop, or...
-choose a 18" wheel for summer and steering feel, widest tire 245?

-Red-Line Synthetic

thanks,
AR-Nico

Default Some answers-

First-welcome to the group!

-your allroad sits nice - did you change out the suspension?, or is that the bottom setting? plan to keep stock susp till breaks.
--No, that's the 402 mod we all refer to. You can lower the allroad with the VAGCOM software. No cost other than the software, but I suspect there's someone in your area with the software that could help you out.

-tint windows - 20% sounds good, approx costs?, recommendations? things to bring up to installer?
The tint on my windows is 20%. Except the front doors which are stock- that's the law in Illinois. I paid $200 to have it done locally. Nothing unusual, except for the typical defroster lines in the rear and on the side windows to be careful of.

-GIAC chip motor/trans
-- Lots of folks here have the APR, GIAC, Revo engine chip. I think I'm one of the few with the GIAC tip chip. What a world of difference in the shift characteristics of the car. This is the way the car should have come from the factory.

-upgrade front rotors to a slotted. two steep miles of downhill everyday plus tahoe runs almost every wkend in winter.
-- slotted rotors offer a small improvement as long as the rotor that's slotted is a good quality to begin with- Zimmerman or Brembo. But you'd probably see more benefit with an upgrade in the brake pads themselves- Hawk, Mintex, others. Better bite with less dust.

-- Using your S4 wheels for the winter is a great idea. But as long as you need to buy tires why not just get a set of dedicated snows. To be honest, the Dunlop M3's that I've run for the winter in the stock size are better in every condition than the OE allroad tires. Even in the dry.

-- I have always liked the Redline synthetics (Water Wetter in the radiator right now) but not sure if any of their oils are VW/Audi approved. Most of us have migrated to the Castrol Syntec 5W40 which is designed to meet the specs.
