You're not on a soapbox. I asked, you answered. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Default Re: interesting... why??!

I'm the guy in Chicago (Actually Rockford) who has it installed, but not all the features work.
Napletons Autowerks was the dealer I took the unit to and they didn't know what to do with it. I spoke with the Auto sales mgr who shared some insight and at least helped to get the radio to work. The unit that you can buy is they same unit that will is available on the 2005 A4 and obviously the 2005 Allroad. Napleton's wont be receiving any allocation of either until March or April so until then we are left to work out the install. First, there IS NO DVD available, unless someone who has a new A4 will volunteer a disc. Second, the unit need some heavy mods (FM/AM antenna and illumination). I will shoot a picture of rear and post.

Default We have to start talking about retrofit.. I Agree

I have a 2005 w/ navigation and am curious as to wheather or not the new navigation head unit can be retro-fitted. AOA & my dealer have no infomation at this time- typical. So, it may be up to the owners to figure out the process. I can not imagine that the swop out should be difficult if there is a pre-existing navigation installed. I could be wrong, I'm an architect not an engineer.
