2018 wheels +40 vs stock offset
hey guys, new member here. I've spent quite a bit of time reading through this forum and found lots of valuable info! I plan on becoming a regular contributing member.
I'm picking up a 2018 Allroad in a couple days with 18 inch wheels. I want to put a set of 19 inch wheels on it. They are are 19x8.5 with 40 offset. I am not sure what the stock offset is. Some posts say 26 and some say 29. Assuming the stock wheels are 7.5 wide and have 29 offset, online calculator says that the 19x8.5s (+40) will be 23.7mm closer to the strut and only poke out 1.7mm more than the stock wheels.
Can anyone confirm the stock wheel offset? Will the 19 inch wheel specs work?
thanks kindly

This is a C5 allroad forum btw....2001-2005.
Pull off your 18" rim...the et (offset) will be cast in the rim somewhere inside (could also be by the lugs on the outside.....)
The 19"s 'should' work... a 10mm spacer might be what you need to get closer to the stock offset.
